How to configure your Website Backup in the SiteLock Dashboard

The product that you have just purchased is you Website Backup. This product will backup your site files and database on a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. For this product to connect, you will use the same FTP user that you used to connect your SMART scans and you will need your Database credentials.

Step 1: Launch your SiteLock Dashboard:

  • If you have purchased services directly from SiteLock you can go to our website and select LOGIN at the top righthand corner or click here. Your username will be the email address that you signed up for our services with. You many need to request a password reset if you are unable to sign in.
  • If you purchased our services through once of our hosting partners, you can launch the dashboard by signing into your hosting control panel and following their instructions. You may need to search their knowledge base for instructions on how to do this.

Step 2: Configure Website Backup:

  • Once you have logged into your dashboard you will get a pop-up regarding the backup configuration
  • Click on the “Configure” button to proceed to the setup.
  • On the next page, if they are not automatically in place, you will need to input the same FTP credentials that you used to configure your SMART scanner.
  • Once you have placed the FTP credentials in hit “Test Connection” this will verify the user.
  • You will then choose the proper root location of your site files.
  • Once you have chosen the proper site directory click ‘This Is It”.
  • You will now want to click on “Database Backup Settings” on the left.
  • Here you can either hit the yellow “Use File FTP Credentials” button or input the credentials manually.
  • Hit “Test Connection” to validate the credentials.
  • You will then be asked to input your Database user information. Where it says ‘URL” you will want to paste exactly how your website loads in the URL bar of the web browser.
  • Once you have inputted all of the required information you will want to click “Validate Credentials”
  • This will then check the features on the server. Once all the check marks are green you will want to hit save.
