How to check websites with SiteLock

To use our scanning tool, follow these steps:

1. Type in your website’s domain (for example, mywebsite.com)
2. Click the “Scan Now” button
3. Wait approximately 60 seconds for the tool to finish scanning
4. During the free external scan, SiteLock will check for known malware, malicious code, and other vulnerabilities to ensure your site is secure and up-to-date
5. Review the scan results and remediation recommendations if security issues are found

Please note that this free tool cannot guarantee a site is completely free of malware or vulnerabilities. Even if your scan shows as secure, serious functionality issues or a sudden drop in traffic should still be investigated. In most cases, a comprehensive security plan with automated daily site scans is strongly recommended for ongoing protection.

Does this security scan detect all types of malware?

SiteLock's free website scan detects many types of known malware visible externally, without needing access to your code. However, some issues may not be detectable without web server access. For full protection, we highly recommend running a comprehensive scan if you suspect deeper server-level risks.
