We are excited to announce that SiteLock is a WordCamp Global Community Sponsor this year! After sponsoring 17 WordCamps and attending 40 in 2016, becoming a 2017 global sponsor was an obvious next step for us, and we look forward to expanding our support within the community this year!
The end of 2016 is just around the corner—four days in fact—and it has been an incredible year for WordCamps. According to WordCamp Central, there were over 115 camps in 2016 alone, with 65 taking place outside of the U.S. There is no question that WordPress is changing the lives of people globally.
WordCamps bring value to the WordPress community. They inspire and give us the ability to learn from each other. 2016 marked an opportunity for the SiteLock team to immerse itself. We experienced camps large and small, from the U.S. to Canada to Vienna, Austria. We met innovators, developers, bloggers and brand-new users. It was amazing to shake hands and hear how people are changing their lives (and the world) with WordPress.
October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). NCSAM was formed in 2014 and is observed to raise awareness around the importance of cybersecurity.
At SiteLock, we too believe in creating a secure Internet for every individual. Beyond protecting websites, our goal is to teach all Internet users about cyber threats and risks. One way we do this is by attending various trade shows around the world to help raise awareness around the importance of cybersecurity.
It’s appropriate, then, that our our hometown WordCamp, WordCamp Phoenix, happened during the first weekend of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
As a WordPress newbie in 2015, there was so much for me to see and learn about the community. One day, during my many hours of research, I came across a little yellow bear-like (or dog-like?) cartoon animal. I thought to myself, “What the heck is this thing and why am I seeing it hugging a WordPress logo, among other curious objects?” So I dove a bit deeper into this magical creature, which I later came to know and love as Wapuu.
It was held at the Columbus State Conference Center. This turned out to be the perfect location. The main hall and the breakout rooms were all close enough together but emptied into another main room allowing attendees a chance to meet and interact.
We’re packing our bags and getting ready to head out to the beautiful northeast for this year’s WordCamp Boston. Join us July 23-24 at the George Sherman Union for a jam-packed weekend of networking, inspiring talks and of course, great WordPress swag!
Keep an eye out for our friendly WordPress Evangelist Adam W. Warner, he’ll be holding down our sponsor table!
We are stoked to be an Infinity sponsor of this year’s WordCamp Orange County, July 9-10! We’re looking forward to attending new sessions, meeting fellow WordPressers and of course, enjoying the sunshine, ocean and all the OC has to offer. If you’re attending WCOC, be sure to stop by our sponsor table to say hello and pick up fun swag!
Bonus: Check out our very own Evangelist Logan Kipp’s Beginner Workshop “WP Plugins and Security” on Sunday at 10am in the Comet! See you there!
That’s right! We’re headed south for WordCamp Miami, February 20 & 21, 2016 at Florida International University.
